Hardware resources to be provided by the user:
Computer
- minimum PC 486/66 MHz, 8 MB RAM configuration.
It is possible to obtain Internet connection even with a less powerful
configuration but that would mean a slow and uncomfortable work. On
the other hand, new programs are more and more demanding in respect
of hardware resources .
Modem
- 9.6, 14.4, 28.8, 33.6, 56 kb/s or ISDN Internal or external modem
will do.
Local circumstances do not allow full usage of the nominal modem potentials,
mainly due to inefficient telephone lines.
And
a telephone line, of course. We are mostly talking about a classic
(analogue) line, while digital or ISDN lines are acceptable as well.
ISDN technology ensures much better and cost-efficient connections,
which therefore means better Internet connections.
Software
resources to be provided by the user:
In order to obtain Internet
connection on your PC, it is necessary to provide operating system supporting
TCP/IP protocol, such as Windows 3.11, Windows 95 and new releases,
Windows NT 3.51 and new releases, OS/2 Warp Connect and new releases,
any Unix, MacOS, AmigaOS...
Two Internet operation
programs dominate the market lately - Microsoft
Internet Explorer and Netscape
Communicator. It is possible to download them from the web with
no charge at all. Both of them enable comfortable web "surfing", e-mail
and News conference possibilities. There are several standards for web
multimedia contents watching - we recommend Real
Audio/Video and NetMeeting

can be set by user.
